While they are already near the £100million mark in transfer expenditure this summer, it appears Chelsea are just getting started.
Having secured Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner from Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively, Frank Lampard is looking to overhaul his squad in an effort to compete with Liverpool and Manchester City next season.
Despite a passable first season at Stamford Bridge in which Chelsea look increasingly likely to secure Champions League football, Lampard has a way to go before his side are considered serious title challengers.
Were they to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, it would be quite the statement. There’s movement on that front, it seems. Here are all the latest transfer rumours coming out of Stamford Bridge.
Good news on Kai Havertz
Having established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in the Bundesliga, Havertz was always going to be in high demand this summer.
We may be on the verge of complete Havertz-mania, as it looks like he may have told Bayer Leverkusen he wants to leave.
According to The Evening Standard, Havertz held talks with the Bayer hierarchy this week and indicated he wants to move on.
Chelsea are not the only club in the running to sign him, with Real Madrid also reportedly interested. The Blues are favourites as things stand, but may have to part with at least £70m to get a deal done.
Inter Milan chase Emerson and Giroud
Antonio Conte wants to bring Emerson Palmieri and Olivier Giroud to the San Siro, reports Goal.
Inter are ready to offer £19m plus add-ons for Emerson and, while he would prefer to remain in west London, he is said to be level-headed about his chances of a reprieve.
Giroud almost signed for Inter in January, only for the deal to fall through when Chelsea struggled to find a suitable replacement.
Given interest in Emerson and Giroud, Inter are less keen on making Victor Moses’ loan permanent despite having an option to sign him for £9m.
Juventus consider Aaron Ramsey swap deal
According to Tuttosport, Juventus are so keen to sign Jorginho they are considering whether to offer Aaron Ramsey or Adrien Rabiot in a swap deal.
Having brought Jorginho with him when he left Napoli for Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri is eager for another reunion with his favourite midfield metronome.
Juve are also considering a loan offer for Jorginho with an obligation to buy, similar to the deal they struck with Chelsea over Juan Cuadrado.
