A toddler who went missing one month ago was found unresponsive in the river
On Friday, Colorado authorities identified a dead body found in a river as a 3-year-old boy who passed away earlier last month.
The cause of the death was drowning
Eagle County Coroner’s office said in a statement Wednesday that Sebastian Rodriguez Castro was found dead in the Eagle River, east of Dotseiro. The pathologist’s office decided that the cause of death was consistent with the drowning and determined that the method of death was accidental.
Castro was reportedly missing from his apartment, Eagle on the first floor, on June 5. The boy’s sister, Jackie Rodriguez, told the sources that his brother would climb the satellite dish to escape from a fenced area and escape to a nearby park.
Several people informed officers they found belongings of the boy near the river
Hundreds of volunteers and multiple agencies searched for Castro. Sources reported that a child’s shoes and a cell phone were recovered near the Eagle River on June 7.
“I thank the community for their patience as we continued the process of this office to confirm the identity of the recovered body,” commented Kuroner Kara Betis province on Wednesday.
