Ennio Morricone dead at 91 years old

Legendary composer Ennio Morricone has died aged 91 after an incredible career spanning more than 500 films.

He broke out for his work on so-called Spaghetti Westerns including A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, but went on to produce memorable scores in a wide variety of other genres.

He passed away earlier today at the Campus Bio-Medico in Rome.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Inception composer Hans Zimmer paid tribute to Morricone’s work, describing him as an “icon.”
