Tennessee Mother Shot Daughter To Death, Claimed Toddler Son Shot Her

A mother shot down her own 5-year-old daughter

Last week, a Tennessee mother was charged with the murder of her five-year-old daughter in September 2019, a crime she turned over a stranger for the first time who entered the house, then the girl’s father and finally the youngest child.

Police responded to news of a shooting north of Knoxville just before 9:00 pm. On September 14, they discovered that 5-year-old Destiny Oliver was shot and killed. She was taken to the University of Tennessee medical center, where she was declared dead the next day.

The mother kept on changing her statements during the investigation

Destiny’s mother, Robin Howington, told police for the first time that an unknown assailant entered the house and shot in the chest of a girl fleeing the black Chrysler 300. She later said that Destiny’s father shot her while on the run in the white Chrysler 300. According to the reports.

When the police found a weapon hidden in the bushes near the house, Howington said that her boyfriend, who was not the father of Destiny, had hidden the weapon there. But when the investigation uncovered a neighbor’s observation record where Hawington was hiding weapons, she changed his story again.

Howington blamed her 2-year-old son for the daughter’s death

This time, the 37-year-old mother told detectives that her 2-year-old son discovered a gun in the cupboard and shot Destiny. She said she cleaned the gun and hid it in the bushes. She also said she was rearranging the furniture.

A week after filming, Knoxville police arrested Hawington and accused her of bogus evidence, as previously reported by the officers. She was released on the same day. Court documents, in this case, showed that she was trying to destroy her cell phone because she didn’t want the police to see the drug sales documents.

Charges against the woman

And that was until July 1, when the Knox County jury returned the six-point charge, which included crime killings, aggravation of child abandonment, a false report, false evidence, and attempts at false evidence. News-Sentinel reported that Wednesday she was taken into custody and held on $ 500,000 bail.
