Fans of Unsolved Mysteries had been gripped through the episode exploring what came about Rey Rivera, who was once discovered lifeless in 2006 after apparently falling throughout the Baltimore Belvedere Hotel’s roof and into an deserted room, and the cryptic word he left in the back of.
Now the sequence’ co-creator, Terry Dunn Meurer, has printed what Rivera’s widow Allison, who seemed in episode one, considered Rey Rivera’s word.
Speaking to Nerdist, Meurer mentioned the case is “probably one of the strongest mysteries” they’ve ever produced.
“The whole thing is baffling,” Meurer mentioned of the word. “Allison, who knew Rey and knows that note better than anyone, said to me, ‘I know where each of those pieces of that note comes from. What I don’t understand is why they’re all put together in this letter form.’ So if Allison can’t figure it out, and the FBI can’t figure it out, I wouldn’t even venture a guess.”
The word, discovered taped to the again of Rey Rivera’s laptop, was once addressed to “Brothers and Sisters” and stuffed with references to Freemasonry, together with the name of the game society’s motto: ‘Whom distinctive feature unites, demise won’t separate”.
Also discussed within the word was once an inventory of other people Rivera knew and quite a lot of motion pictures hooked up to Free Masons and secret society’s, equivalent to Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut.
Meurer mentioned that Allison Rivera believes that Rey’s pastime in Freemasonry, which noticed him each acquire a e-book titled Freemasons for Dummies and discuss with a Masonic temple at the day of his disappearance, was once all analysis for a screenplay he was once running on.
“There’s been speculation that it’s a suicide note,” Meurer added. “But Allison does now not consider that. She believes if he was once going to kill himself, he would have left a word for [her] and for the circle of relatives explaining why and what was once happening. It’s uncommon that any person that commits suicide doesn’t depart a word or other people didn’t see it coming.
“There are often incidents prior where people can say, ‘Oh, I could kind of see where that was coming up.’ That’s Allison’s belief. She also said, ‘Because Rey was a writer, he would have left a beautiful note. He’s a really, really good writer. We believe he would have.’”
“I circled it constantly, just like we’re circling it now,” she mentioned. “I can’t stop trying to figure out this mystery.”
Earlier this month, Meurer spoke out a few fan concept which related Rey’s demise to the David Fincher movie The Game, which he additionally referenced in his word and includes a primary persona who jumps from the roof of a construct via a tumbler ceiling.
